July 2, Fineko/abc.az. YouTube video hosting has introduced a new policy to combat content created using artificial intelligence (AI).

ABC.AZ reports that now users can request to delete materials on which voice or face imitation occurs. However, the process will not be automatic.

Requests from users are marked as a "privacy violation". Therefore, the injured person gets the right to initiate the removal of a video or other material. However, there are exceptions for minors, the elderly, people without access to a computer and other cases.

When submitting an application, YouTube moderation will consider a number of factors before deleting. Representatives of the company will need to find out if the video is a parody, satire or something else in the public interest. If the generated material shows a well-known person in compromising situations, including support for a political candidate, such content will be deleted within 48 hours.

Initially, YouTube will give time for the channel owner to delete the video himself. However, after 48 hours, moderation prohibits the video from being shown. At the same time, the deletion includes not only a complete ban on publication, but also the erasure of the name, personal information of the person from the title, tags and description, as well as the blurring of faces in the videos.

Since March 2024, YouTube has required authors to mark videos that were created using artificial intelligence (AI). We are talking not only about generating images, but also sound using a neural network. For example, if the author used a synthetic version of the voice or used special effects.
