Nokia acquires Infinera for $2.3 billion

July 1, Fineko/abc.az. Nokia entered into an agreement to acquire Infinera Corp. for $2.3 billion, including debt obligations.

ABC.AZ reports that as part of the deal, Nokia's share price will be $6.65 per share. The financing of the transaction provides for the payment of 70% of the value in cash and 30% at the expense of American depositary shares of Nokia, the market value of which is $1.2 billion.

The deal aims to expand the range of network products for data centers and geographic presence in the United States through Infinera's capabilities in the field of cross-server communications for Nokia, which will become one of the fastest growing segments in the overall communications technology market.

As a result of the deal, Nokia will become the second supplier of optical network equipment with a 20% share after Huawei. In addition, Nokia will be able to increase the sale of equipment to large technology companies, including Amazon, Alphabet and Microsoft.
