ABC.AZ reports that Deputy Minister of Digital Development & Transport of Azerbaijan, head of the Technology & Innovation Working Group Samir Mammadov said about this during Baku conference "Economic reforms & modern challenges of improving the business environment".

"More than 150 Internet operators and providers have about 1.9 million subscribers of fixed broadband Internet access in Azerbaijan. About 70% of them are provided with Internet services via fiber-optic cable. The average speed of fixed broadband Internet in our country is 35.2 Mbps. These figures are significantly higher than in previous years. Currently, 88.1% of the country's population uses the Internet. In general, 3G and 4G network coverage in the country is approaching 100%. Currently, the number of active mobile Internet subscribers in our country exceeds 8.8 million people. The number of active mobile Internet subscribers per 100 people is 86," he noted.
