February 14, Fineko/abc.az. The dynamics of the growth of automobile imports in Azerbaijan has continued at a high pace in recent years.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that an increase in the number of imported cars was recorded from 2000 to 2009.

Despite the fact that there was an 18% decline in 2009 compared to 2008, the upward trend continued from 2011 to 2013.

From 2014 to 2017, imports fell sharply again. At that, expenses incurred on imported cars from 2013 to 2016 is not disclosed by the Statistics Committee.

In recent years, there has been growth on imported cars, including the cost of cars.

In 2023 alone, the country imported 88,151 cars for $1.515 bn million.

Compared with 2022, the number of cars increased by $670.675 million or 79.4% in value terms and by 20,167 cars or 29.4% in quantitative terms.
