January 15, Fineko/abc.az. As of December 1, 2023, the total number of employees in the economy of Azerbaijan reached 1,732,600 people, including 899,800 people in the public sector and 832,800 people in the private sector of the economy.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that 19.2% of employees were recorded in education, 18.5% in trade, repair of motor vehicles, 13.0% in industry, 8.4% in social and medical services provided to the population, 6.4% in construction, 6.4% in public administration, defense and social security 4.3% in transport and warehousing, 3.7% in professional, scientific and technical activities, 3.4% in agriculture, forestry and fisheries, 2.1% in financial and insurance activities, 14.6% in other sectors of the economy.

The average monthly nominal salary of employees in Azerbaijan for Jan-Nov 2023 grew by 11.2% year-on-year and reached 923.1 manats.

Over Jan-Oct 2023, the average monthly nominal salary of employees in Azerbaijan was 921.1 manats.
