November 17, Fineko/abc.az. The pension of war veterans may be increased in Azerbaijan.
ABC.AZ reports that the matter was raised during the discussion of the Draft Law on the Budget of the State Social Protection Fund for 2024 at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship.
MP Vahid Ahmadov asked whether discussions were held between the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Labor & Social Protection on the allowance of 80 manats paid to war veterans: "Are you thinking about increasing this allowance? Wherever we meet, war veterans ask about it. We can't find the answer to these questions."
SSPF chairman Himalay Mamishov recalled that within the ongoing reforms, the minimum wage, minimum pension, various social benefits, allowances and pensions have been increased almost every year over the past four years: "These issues are regularly discussed both in the Ministry of Finance and in the Ministry of Economy. They are considered within the capabilities of each budget year. It is possible that these issues will be considered for next year. The issues of increasing the size of pensions for war veterans will also be discussed. However, we do not consider it appropriate to link the pension of war veterans with utility and transport costs."
