November 4, Fineko/abc.az. Apple will move the production of iPhone 17 and 17 Plus to India from China.
ABC.AZ reports that analyst Ming-Chi Ko predicted in his blog on the Medium platform that Apple will move the production of future smartphones to India.
According to the analyst, Apple has been trying to reduce its dependence on China for years. In this regard, the corporation has planned to launch a full development cycle of the iPhone 17 and 17 Plus smartphones in India. At that, the production of top models with high level of complexity — iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max — will remain in China.
Min-Chi Ko noted that development of iPhone 17 will begin at the end of 2024, and release of the devices will take place in 2025. The main partner of Tim Cook Corporation Foxconn will be engaged in the production of the devices.
The analyst added that Apple currently produces about 12-14 percent of smartphones in India. By 2024, the company intends to increase this share to 20-25 percent. In turn, the scale of iPhone production at factories in Zhengzhou and Taiwan will be reduced by 35-35 and 75-85 percent, respectively.
