Türkiye’s new law to tighten issuance of a residence permit for foreigners

October 20, Fineko/abc.az. The Turkish government has toughened the rules for issuing residence permits to foreigners buying real estate in the country. 

ABC.AZ reports, referring to the country's press that according to a new government decree, now the minimum price for real estate should be $200,000. The new rules will affect all transactions that were closed after October 16.

"Under the new rules, issuance of a residence permit for real estate ownership is possible if the price of an apartment is at least $200,000," the government says in a statement. 

In connection with this issue, the government stated that the minimum cost of housing for owners of real estate bought before this date is $50,000 in small towns and $75,000 in large ones.
