October 18, Fineko/abc.az. For services rendered by the State Maritime & Port Agency in the field of maritime transportation, a fee will be charged in the amount determined by the body (institution) defined by the relevant executive authority.

ABC.AZ informs that this was reflected in the proposed draft amendment to the Merchant Shipping Code, discussed at today’s meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Industry & Entrepreneurship.

Under the draft, the fee will be charged in the amount determined by the body (institution) defined by the relevant executive authority for the following services:
- assessment of the level of readiness of the seaport (its hydraulic structures) and the base of marine operations for the start of operation, projects related to the construction of the vessel, changes in its design, construction and reconstruction of the seaport (including cargo terminal, berthing bridge) and the base of marine operations;
- Conducting an annual, as well as on the initiative of the shipowner, interim inspection of ships in accordance with the requirements of international conventions.
