September 13, Fineko/abc.az. The Zangezur corridor is not an alternative to the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway, ABC.AZ quotes Ufuk Yalcin, CEO of the State Railways of Türkiye (TCDD).

He noted that Türkiye currently does not have a strategy on Zangezur corridor: “Currently there are some points regarding Zangezur corridor. But after they are settled, we will get direct access to Azerbaijan through this corridor.”

Yalchin said that the BTK railway is being completely reconstructed: “The reason why the railway line is currently closed is also related to this reconstruction. I think we will be able to send two trains within a day after the BTK is put back into operation no later than in two months.”
