September 5, Fineko/abc.az. The sales of new automobiles increased by 131.5% (against August 2022) and reached 111,300 motor vehicles in Russia for August 2023, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Association of European Businesses (AEB).

At that, car sales in the Russian Federation for the past 8 months of 2023 increased by 29.5% up to 610,600 vehicles.

"The information on sales of new motor vehicles based on data on their transfer to owners shows that August 2023 was marked by an increase in sales by 131.5%, or 63,198 vehicles, compared with August 2022 and amounted to 111,272 vehicles. Over Jan-Aug 2023, the market grew by 29.5%," the Association says.

The 1st place in the August rating was taken by Avtovaz, whose sales in the reporting month increased by 84%, to 33,300 cars. In just 8 months, 206,300 cars were sold, which is twice as much as in the same period of 2022.

Chinese company Haval is in 2nd place. Its sales grew almost 3.7-fold in August up to 11,200 cars, and for Jan-Aug - 3.6-fold up to 60,500 vehicles.

Top 3 is closed by Gaz, whose sales in August 2023 increased by 81% up to 5,300 cars, and in eight months - by 49% up to 32,200.
