August 23, Fineko/abc.az. Istanbul-headquartered Getir has announced that it will lay off 2,500 people.

Despite serious reductions, the company will continue its activities in Türkiye, Great Britain, Germany, the Netherlands and the United States, ABC.AZ reports citing foreign press.

The company, which has opted for cutting its costs, believes the reason for this is that investors investing in the sector during the COVID-19 pandemic require a clear path to profitability.

In March 2022, the $11.8 billion exit decision for Getir was made following the closure of the company's operations in France, Italy, Portugal and Spain earlier this year.
