June 20, Fineko/abc.az. Two out of three tourists arriving in Azerbaijan use an airplane.

ABC.AZ reports, quoting MP Vugar Bayramov.

He noted that 31.9% of tourists use rail and road transport, 66.6% traveled by air, and 1.5% by sea.

"This means that two out of every three tourists visiting our country use air transport. The gradual opening of the land borders would be advisable, taking into account the beginning of the tourist season. In particular, it is more expedient to fully open the land borders with Türkiye and Georgia. Both countries are strategic partners of Azerbaijan. The gradual opening of land borders is also important from economic angle. This is important not only from angle of increasing the number of tourists coming to the country, but also from angle of access of our citizens traveling abroad to cheaper vehicles," the MP added.
