June 14, Fineko/abc.az. The unemployment rate in South Korea, seasonally adjusted, fell to 2.5%, which is the lowest since the beginning of the corresponding calculations in June 1999.
ABC.AZ reports that according to the S Korean Ministry of Finance, growth in the number of jobs continues, even despite the decline in the country's population. The agency also says about gradual recovery in the service sector and lower-than-expected decline in employment in the manufacturing sector.
The number of people employed in the country increased by 351,000 against June 2022. In May, it increased by 354,000, and the peak of the current growth occurred in January 2022: then more than 1 million people got jobs at once.
Healthcare and social security are the leaders in employment sectors - the number of their employees has increased by 166,000. They are followed by hotel business and catering – 128,000 people. At that, construction and manufacturing sectors lost 66,000 and 39,000 jobs, respectively.
