May 8, Fineko/abc.az. The decree signed on March 29 by the Prime Minister restricts the import into the territory of Azerbaijan the automobiles older than 10 years (with exception of rare motor vehicles and automobiles temporarily imported into the customs territory). This decision came into force on April 29.

ABC.AZ reports that this decision of the government caused a stir in the automotive market. As a result, old cars and their spare parts began to become more expensive quickly.

According to persons engaged in the sale of cars, cars older than 10 years have risen in price by 5-10%. Sellers said that prices will rise even more in the coming months.

Russian cars produced in 2004-2005 are currently offered on the market for 6,000 manats. However, last year their price was about 4,000 manats. This means that old cars have recently risen in price by at least 50%.
