May 3, Fineko/abc.az. Pasha Holding has entered the taxi market of Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that the brand of Umico holding (Competo LLC) has started cooperation with Ukrainian taxi company Uklon. As of today, the new taxi service has started accepting orders.

Uklon Azerbaijan LLC, a partner of PASHA Holding in this process, was registered this February at the same address as PASHA Holding (153, Neftchiler Avenue) with authorized capital of $100,000.

Osman Gunduz, an ICT expert and president of the Azerbaijan Internet Forum, said that this innovation will somewhat exacerbate competition in the taxi market of Azerbaijan, where foreign taxi companies mainly dominate.

"It seems that PASHA Holding intends to turn Umico into a more gigantic platform with the functions of delivery, e-commerce, taxi service, etc. Thus, the number of taxi companies with foreign investments operating in Azerbaijan has reached 5. Competition in the taxi market in our country is extremely strong. There are hundreds of taxi companies. Tens of thousands of taxi drivers render services in this market. Foreign taxi companies offer more innovative solutions. The prices are also quite low. In general, with a steady decline in prices, under conditions when there are up to 100 domestic taxi companies and 5 foreign taxi companies on the taxi market, the economic efficiency of taxi activity remains in question," Gunduz emphasized.
