April 20, Fineko/abc.az. Iran is likely to import used cars from now on.
ABC.AZ that given the fact that the supply of cars to the country does not meet the demand, the government has urgently decided to import used cars.
Iranian Minister of Industry, Mining & Trade Riza Fatemi Emin, informing about the bill on the import of used cars after a Cabinet meeting, said that there are problems in the automotive market related to the excess of demand over supply.
The minister says that although last year and this year there was a good rate in terms of production, people bought cars to protect their assets from inflation:
"A quick solution to the problem of tension in the automotive market is a priority for car imports. To this end, the government has approved an urgent bill on the import of used cars, which will be put on the agenda. I hope it will be approved at parliament. This will be applied until the gap between supply and demand disappears."
