April 14, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Mar 2023, Azerbaijan imported 20,799 cars of various purposes for $315.3 million (21.62% and 66.5% more against Jan-Mar 2022).

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Customs Committee that imports of vehicles intended for the transportation of 10 or more people, including the driver, decreased by 48.9% to 46 vehicles ($2.616 million), imports of passenger cars and other vehicles intended mainly for the transportation of people increased by 20.9% to 19,264 vehicles ($277.8 million).

3,047 cars ($66.198 million) are hybrid vehicles and 408 cars ($16.97 million) are electric vehicles. Imports of hybrid cars decreased by 2.96% and electric vehicles increased by 5.8 times.

In addition, imports of motor vehicles for cargo transportation increased by 35.18% up to 1,368 vehicles ($21.57 million), and motor vehicles for special purposes by 83.3% up to 121 vehicles ($13.335 million).
