March 16, Fineko/abc.az. The annual volume of the pharmaceutical market of Azerbaijan is $850 million, and the most of the volume is ensured by imports.
ABC.AZ reports that Pharmexil’s director Lakshmi Prasanna stated about this at today’s Baku business meeting of Azerbaijani-Indian pharmaceutical companies.
"Imports occupy the main place in the pharmaceutical market of Azerbaijan with annual volume of $850 million. This applies to imports from Turkiye, Europe, China and Russia. India occupies 4-5% of total imports and ranks 6th among importing countries," she said.
Prasanna emphasized that India can provide solutions to support the efforts of the Azerbaijani government to ensure access of the Azerbaijani population to high-quality and affordable medicines. In this sphere, Indian organizations are willing to work with authorized bodies of Azerbaijan.
