March 16, Fineko/abc.az. The portal of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, which will directly process applications for transit operations, is expected to be put into operation in the near future.

ABC.AZ reports that SCC chairman Shahin Bagirov stated about this to journalists on the sidelines of a multilateral meeting on the project aimed at simplifying the transit customs procedure on one stop shop principle within the Trans-Caspian International Middle Corridor "East-West".

He added that the SCC is aimed at introducing digital tools to speed up customs procedures.

"It is planned to achieve the goal of conducting customs procedures on the oe stop shop principle window" within the international corridor East-West. In the near future, the SCC portal to be put into operation will directly process applications for transit operations. First of all, we are aimed at achieving the goal of obtaining information about the goods whose arrival is expected, which will ensure the efficiency of cargo transportation. After the physical arrival of goods on the territory of Azerbaijan, we’ll be able to issue and send them further in the shortest possible time," he said.

Bagirov added that Azerbaijan continues work on international conventions on cargo transportation.
