March 14, Fineko/abc.az. This January, the average monthly nominal salary of employees in Azerbaijan increased by 11.8% (versus January 2022) to 856.2 manats.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that as of 1 February of this year the number of employees increased by 33,000 people or 2% (against January 2022) to 1.712 million people.

Of them, 901,100 people carried out activities in the public sector of the economy, and 811,000 people in the non-state sector.

Among the hired workers, 19.5% occupied positions in education, 18.8% in trade, repair of transport vehicles, 12.7% in the industrial sector, 8.3% in medical and social services provided to the population, 6.8% in construction, 6.5% in state management and defence; social security, 4.2% in transport and storage, 3.6% in agriculture, forestry, and fishery, 3.5% in professional, scientific, and technical activity, 2% in finance and insurance, and 14% - other economic spheres.
