March 14, Fineko/abc.az. German automaker Volkswagen plans to build a factory in Canada for the production of components for batteries for electric vehicles, ABC.AZ reports with reference to MarketWatch.

The company will be located in St. Thomas (Ontario) and will be the first for the company to produce battery cells in North America.

The start of production is scheduled for 2027.

Volkswagen plans to bring at least 25 new models of electric vehicles to the market by 2030.
