February 21, Fineko/abc.az. In 2022, the average monthly salary in Azerbaijan increased by 107 manats, or 147%, and at the end of the year amounted to 839 manats.

ABC.AZ reports that at the end of 2021, the average monthly salary in the country was 732 manats.

Wage growth was different in some sectors of the economy.

According to the Statistics Committee, the sphere in which wages increased the most in 2022 is public administration and defense, as well as social security. The average monthly salary in this area increased by 230 manats, or 23%, from 985 manats to 1,214 manats.

The second place in terms of salary growth is occupied by doctors - in 2022, salaries in the healthcare sector increased by 22%, or 127 manats, rising from 568 to about 700 manats. But even after this increase, doctors are still considered among the lowest-paid workers in the country.

In 2022, salaries in education, recreation, entertainment and the arts increased by 19-20%. Education - as usual, this is one of the areas where the average monthly salary is the lowest in the country. Last year, salaries in this area increased by only 104 manats, from 530 to 630 manats.
