February 21, Fineko/abc.az. About 11,900 jobs were closed in Azerbaijan last year.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that the closure of jobs is associated with both the liquidation of enterprises and organizations, and with the ongoing cuts.

39.3% of the jobs closed during this period were in the public sector. In other words, 4,680 jobs were cut in the public sector.

And more than 7,200 jobs were eliminated in the private sector.

The Committee reports that 57.3% of jobs were closed due to termination of activities of enterprises and organizations, and 42.7% because of cuts in existing enterprises and companies.
