July 8, Fineko/abc.az. The Audiovisual Council of Azerbaijan has announced competitions for obtaining three licenses of a nationwide terrestrial radio broadcaster.

ABC.AZ reports that this decision was made at a meeting of the Audiovisual Council on 7 July.

The issue of using free radio frequencies suitable for broadcasting was considered at the meeting.

After the discussions, a decision was made to announce separate competitions in accord with the requirements of Articles 29.1, 50.1.3 and 51.1 of the Law on Mass Media to obtain three new nationwide terrestrial radio broadcaster licenses in order to ensure the effective use of radio frequency resources suitable for broadcasting, as well as to achieve the development of diversity in nationwide radio broadcasting.
