July 1, Fineko/abc.az. Pharmaceutical manufacture in Azerbaijan is highly dependent on imports.

ABC.AZ reports that Orkhan Mammadov, the chairman of the Agency for the Development of Small & Medium-sized Businesses (KOBIA) under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, made the above-said statement at public discussion "Promising opportunities in the medical business".

"The first period of the pandemic showed us how our country depends on simple medical supplies. High import duties have led to an increase in the cost of services. We consider it necessary to take the necessary measures to stimulate domestic entrepreneurs to replace the import of medicines and medical equipment,” Mammadov said.
