May 4, Fineko/abc.az. The import of poultry products from the U.S. and Mongolia has been restricted.

ABC.AZ was informed at the Food Safety Agency that cases of cattle disease have been recorded in the provinces of Khentiya, Dornod and Sukhbaatar in Mongolia, and highly pathogenic avian influenza in the states of Idaho, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

Azerbaijan has also imposed temporary restrictions on the import of live poultry and hatching eggs, poultry meat, poultry meat containing poultry processing products, and finished meat products obtained from all types of poultry products (with the exception of goods subjected to heat treatment that ensures the destruction of avian influenza viruses), bird feed and feed additives for birds (except with the exception of feed and feed additives obtained by vegetable, chemical and microbiological synthesis), equipment used for keeping, slaughtering and processing birds from the states of Idaho, Michigan and Pennsylvania of the U.S., as well as the transit of live birds from these administrative-territorial units.
