April 7, Fineko/abc.az. The Japanese division of streaming service Netflix has avoided paying taxes to the country's budget in the amount of 1.2 billion yen ($10 million at the current exchange rate) over the past three years.
ABC.AZ reports that this is the conclusion reached by Yomiuri newspaper, one of the authoritative Japanese press bodies, after an audit conducted by the Tokyo Tax Bureau.
The article notes that over the past three years the Japanese division of Netflix has received the right to demonstrate the products of local studios and companies.
After that, the Japanese division transferred part of its rights to the Dutch division of the streaming service.
