April 5, Fineko/abc.az. Until recently, almost any gadget had a battery compartment, opening which, each user could remove and change the battery.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the foreign media that although now most smartphones and other devices use batteries without the possibility of replacement, the situation in the EU promises to change very soon.

EU parliamentarians voted for the law on the use of replaceable batteries, which will come into force in 2024.

Since now most devices are equipped with rather "long-lived" lithium batteries, manufacturers have chosen to completely deprive users of the possibility of their own replacement - it is usually impossible to get to the corresponding compartments without special tools and special skills. The new law will affect a wide range of electronics, from smartphones to electric scooters.
