Tax breaks to be applied on food products, imported in Azerbaijan

February 22, Fineko/abc.az. Tax breaks will be applied on customs duties and value-added tax on food products in the minimum consumer basket imported in Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that it has been reflected in the Order, signed by Azerbaijan's Prime Minister Ali Asadov "On emergent measures on strengthening anti-inflation measures in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Under the order, the Ministry of Economy is tasked to submit proposals to the Cabinet Ministers within 15 days on the procurement and processing of basic food products that are part of the minimum consumer basket, tools (mechanisms of preferential loans, credit guarantees and interest subsidies) and products of preferential financing of representatives of micro, small and medium-sized businesses.

The Economy Ministry has also been instructed, together with the State Customs Committee, to take the necessary measures to protect the level of self-sufficiency in the domestic market for food products that are part of the minimum consumer basket.
