January 10, Fineko/abc.az. The Baku Office of the General Directorate of the Turkish Radio & Television Corporation appealed to Radio-Television Broadcasting & Satellite Communications Production Union on suspension of terrestrial broadcasting TRT-1, Radio-Television Broadcasting and Satellite Communications.

ABC.AZ reports that Teleradio informed about this.

The appeal notes that the TRT-1's broadcasting in Azerbaijan via cable television and the Internet is considered sufficient.

“For that reason, as allocation of additional funds for terrestrial broadcasting is not considered expedient, it was asked to suspend terrestrial broadcasting of TRT-1 from 2022,” the Union says.

Based on the above-said and with the consent of the National TV & Radio Broadcasting Council, from 5 January 2022 Teleradio has stopped terrestrial broadcasting of TV channel TRT-1 on the territory of Azerbaijan.
