Hackers attacked Central Bank of Russia and stole 500 million rubles

December 15, Fineko/abc.az. Hackers conducted a cyberattack on the Central Bank of Russia.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Russian media that hacker group Moneymaker was able to steal Russian bank’s money from its correspondent account at the Central Bank for the first time since 2018.

According to a source close to the Central Bank of Russia, hackers managed to steal more than half a billion rubles during the attack.

It is not yet known where the hacker attack was carried out.

The police and the Central Bank of Russia have launched an investigation into this issue.
