December 14, Fineko/abc.az. "According to the Draft Law on Media, the functions of the National TV & Radio Broadcasting Council will be performed by the Audiovisual Council of Azerbaijan. In other words, it is proposed to change the name of the National TV & Radio Broadcasting Council for the Audiovisual Council of Azerbaijan."

ABC.AZ reports that the above-mentioned statement was made by Council’s  chairman Ismet Sattarov.

He noted that the draft law does not provide for expanding the powers of the Council, just the scope of regulation of the Audiovisual Council will be somewhat broader: "The Audiovisual Council will regulate the activities of Internet TV channels that already voluntarily want to work in accordance with the new Law on Media. But in this case there is no question of increasing or decreasing the powers of the organization."
