State Committee’s head: 750,000 IDPs to return to Karabakh

May 31, Fineko/abc.az. About 70% of the Azerbaijani population, who were internally displaced from Karabakh, will return to the liberated territories.

ABC.AZ reports that this was stated by the chairman of the State Committee for Refugees & Internally Displaced Persons of Azerbaijan.

"Indeed, most people will return to their native land. I think it will be more than 60-70% of the 750,000 IDPs, " Rzayev said in an interview for Russian newspaper Izvestia.

According to Rzayev, all this time "we’ve seen their desire to return to their native lands".

Rzayev stressed that according to the current legislation of Azerbaijan, the State is obliged to give the IDPs the opportunity to return to their native places, to give them a decent life.

"We mean a good apartment, a good job, so that they can rebuild their destiny and the fate of their children," he emphasized.
