May 31, Fineko/abc.az. For some time now, various opinions have been voiced that the metro fare will increase.

ABC.AZ reports that Baku Metro press service’s head Bakhtiyar Mammadov stated to reporters that the determination of the fare in the Baku Metro is within the competence of the Tariff Council.

He noted that this is a rumor and will remain so until the Tariff Council announces a relevant decision.

“The Baku Metro does not play a role in price regulation. We can simply contact the Tariff Council, but there is no such request yet. To date, we have started the process of passenger transportation, and in the future we will definitely bring the relevant information to the public,” he said.
