June 10, Fineko/abc.az. The deflation in Azerbaijan for May 2020 amounted to 0.5% against inflation at the level of 0.1% registered in April.
ABC.AZ reports that this data was informed by the State Statistics Committee.
“Deflation made up 0.5% for the past month. Prices for foods, beverages and tobacco products fell by 1.3%, prices for nonfoods rose by 0.1%, and prices for paid services for the population remained stable,” the Committee says.
The average annual inflation rate in Azerbaijan at the end of May was 2.9% (3% by the end of April). The average annual inflation rate for foods was 5.5%, for nonfoods 1.2%, and for services 1%.
The Azerbaijani government forecasts an average annual inflation rate of 4.6% for 2020.
