January 30, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan is likely to lift earlier-introduced inappropriate bans on targeted social assistance for low-income families.

ABC.AZ reports that the Ministry of Labor & Social Protection is to prepare amendments to the legislation to increase the availability of the social assistance program for low-income families.

For this purpose, the amendments have been drafted to the Law on Targeted State Social Assistance and to the Rules for applying, assigning, providing and refusing in TSA.

Thus, according to a rule introduced previously and which is still in force, when changes occurred in the family composition and this was not reported, social assistance to the family was stopped. According to the recently developed rules, these changes and, consequently, failure to provide information will not affect the appointment or payment of assistance. In addition, if the family income changes, the period for informing the family increases from 5 to 15 working days or 21 days.
