June 21, Fineko/abc.az. The indicators of Azerbaijan's foreign trade sector continued to improve in the first quarter of 2019.
This fact was reflected in the Central Bank's monetary policy overview for Jan-Mar.
According to the overview, growth of country's export potential and favourable international trade balance ensured a large surplus.
The State Customs Committee informs that in Q1 of 2019 foreign trade turnover increased by 37.4% up to $7.6 bn. Of them, $4.5 bn (58.9%) accounted for export and $3.1 bn (41.1%) for import.
At the same time during this period a positive balance of $1.3 bn was formed on the foreign trade balance. During this period trade operations were carried out with 155 countries.
