September 22, Fineko/abc.az. Uzbekistan is considering the possibility of participating in the construction of a new railway that will provide access to the Turkish ports of Samsun and Istanbul through the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

At the transport and logistics meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, it was noted that the project is aimed at diversifying country's cargo transportation routes, expanding exports of textile, chemical, agricultural and metallurgical products.

This route, covering the Caspian Sea and the South Caucasus Corridor, will not only strengthen Uzbekistan's logistical cooperation with Azerbaijan and Turkey, but will also become an important link connecting Central Asia with European markets.

The Tashkent administration aims to attract $9.1 billion in investments in the transport sector by 2030 and increase exports of services to $5.7 billion.
