September 17, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Aug 2026, 2.889 million passengers were transported by air in Azerbaijan.

The State Statistics Committee reported that the figure is 168,100 passengers, or 6.2% more against Jan-Aug 2025.

Over the past 8 months of 2026, cargo transportation by air fell by 3.4%, or by 8,600 tons, to 248,000 tons.

The economic entities of the transport sector of Azerbaijan transported 162.739 million tons of cargo. Air transport made up 0.2% of overall cargo transportation.
