September 15, Fineko/abc.az. Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates warned in an exclusive interview with Reuters that no government globally is adequately prepared for the profound societal shifts driven by artificial intelligence (AI).

Highlighted risks including job displacement, cyberattacks, and digital dependency, Gates urged world leaders—including US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping—to unite in managing AI's rapid trajectory.

Comparing AI’s arrival to an "alien intelligence," Gates stressed that despite risks, the technology holds unprecedented potential for global health, education, and agriculture. To support equitable access, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation pledged at least $1 billion over the next two years to advance AI tools, language model datasets, and healthcare innovations in lower-income regions.
