August 17, Fineko/abc.az. During the first seven months of 2026 (January–July), Azerbaijan imported 41,105 vehicles of various types valued at $807,429,000.

According to the State Customs Committee (SCC), vehicle imports decreased by 31.05% in value and 35.17% in volume compared to the corresponding period of last year.

The breakdown of vehicle imports during the reporting period was as follows:

• Passenger cars and light vehicles: 36,169 units ($660.018 million) — down 37.7%.

  • Conventional Hybrids (HEV): 3,837 units ($80.899 million) — down 63.1%.

  • Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV): 6,684 units ($192.789 million) — down 65.8%.

  • Electric Vehicles (EV): 596 units ($15.475 million) — down 49.5%.

• Goods transport vehicles: 4,116 units ($36.723 million) — down 13.5%.

• Passenger transport vehicles (10+ seats): 428 units ($63.709 million) — up 40.3%.

• Special purpose motor vehicles: 392 units ($46.979 million) — up 33.8%.
