August 17, Fineko/abc.az. In the first half of 2026, 7,587.6 thousand tonnes of cargo were transported via transport corridors in Azerbaijan by rail, 3,365.2 thousand tonnes by sea, and 5,699 thousand tonnes by road.

According to the State Statistics Committee, cargo transportation volumes across international corridors during January–June were distributed as follows:

• East-West Transport Corridor: 9,207.4 thousand tonnes (including 4,595 thousand tonnes via Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) corridor)

• North-South Transport Corridor: 4,559.3 thousand tonnes

• North-West Transport Corridor: 2,623.3 thousand tonnes

• South-West Transport Corridor: 261.8 thousand tonnes

During the 6-month period, transit cargo accounted for 46.6% of total freight transported by rail and 46.5% of freight moved by road.
