August 14, Fineko/abc.az. During January-July 2026, services rendered in Azerbaijan's transport and warehousing sector grew by 7.1% in real terms year-on-year, reaching 9 billion 206.6 million AZN.

According to the State Statistics Committee, freight transportation accounted for 60.1% (5 billion 530.7 million AZN) of total services, passenger transit represented 27.4% (2 billion 522.9 million AZN), and warehousing alongside postal operations made up 12.5% (1 billion 153 million AZN).

Total cargo transported across the sector rose by 2.8% to 140.8 million tons. Road transport carried 63% of all freight, followed by pipelines (25.9%), railways (7.4%), maritime (3.6%), and air freight (0.1%). Passenger traffic expanded by 8.6% to 1 billion 290 million passengers, with road transit accommodating 89.3% and the metro network taking 10%.
