US Media Groups Sue Donald Trump Over Truth Social Paid Access Scheme

August 13, Fineko/abc.az. News outlet The Intercept Media and the Freedom of the Press Foundation have filed a lawsuit against US President Donald Trump in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.

The complaint challenges a commercial scheme by Trump Media & Technology Group offering priority access to posts on Truth Social.

The lawsuit highlights that the new "Truth API" service charges up to $100,000 per month for real-time access to market-moving official announcements. Arguing that restricting public access to government news behind a paywall violates the US Constitution and discriminates against the press, the plaintiffs demand an immediate halt to the paid service.
