US July Inflation Data Released In Line with Expectations

22:22 - 12.08.2026

August 12, Fineko/abc.az. According to data from the US Department of Labor, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.1% month-on-month and 3.4% year-on-year in July, aligning with market forecasts.

Core inflation (excluding volatile food and energy costs) picked up 0.2% for the month and 2.5% on an annual basis, marking the slowest pace of annual core inflation growth since March 2021.

Market Impact & Fed Outlook:

  • Energy Shock Easing: The report indicates that the inflationary impact from energy supply disruptions tied to Middle East tensions continued to wane in July.

  • Monetary Policy Flex: The data provides the Federal Reserve with greater leeway to weigh persistent price pressures against recent labor market cooling ahead of its September 15–16 policy meeting.

  • Jackson Hole Focus: Investors now turn their attention to Fed Chair Kevin Warsh's upcoming address at the annual Jackson Hole symposium later this month.
