August 10, Fineko/abc.az. Poultry farming remains one of the fastest-growing segments of Azerbaijan's non-oil agricultural sector. According to figures outlined by President Ilham Aliyev, the country achieves an 82% self-sufficiency rate in poultry meat. Under the State Program for 2026–2030, the government aims to boost poultry production by at least 30% (an additional 44,000 tons) to reach full self-sufficiency and significantly expand foreign sales.

Murvat Hasanli, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Poultry Meat and Egg Producers and Exporters Association, highlighted that last year Azerbaijan exported over 90.4 million table eggs, generating $10.6 million in foreign exchange earnings.

With local produce exported to nearly 10 countries, newly signed protocols with China's General Administration of Customs pave the way for launching chicken meat exports to the massive Chinese market.
