August 8, Fineko/abc.az. Shares of Airbnb (ABNB.O) surged 14% to a more than four-year high after the vacation-rental platform raised its full-year revenue forecast, easing concerns over the impact of Middle East geopolitical tensions on global travel demand.
Airbnb reported second-quarter revenue of $3.61 billion, beating Wall Street estimates of $3.57 billion. Chief Financial Officer Elinor Mertz highlighted resilient global demand and noted no significant headwinds in the current quarter.
Airbnb expects full-year revenue growth in the mid-teens. Furthermore, the integration of AI tools reduced customer support costs per booking by 16% year-over-year, with CEO Brian Chesky calling AI "the best thing to ever happen to Airbnb."
