August 7, Fineko/abc.az. US President Donald Trump has signed two new executive orders aimed at restricting birthright citizenship and curb commercial "birth tourism" following a Supreme Court setback.

The first decree prohibits the entry of foreigners into the United States for the purpose of giving birth to a child in order to obtain American citizenship, and also applies to cases of surrogate motherhood with a similar purpose.

The second decree expands the list of persons whose children will not be able to apply for citizenship upon birth. In addition to the children of diplomats, the restrictions will affect the children of citizens of states hostile to the U.S. and persons associated with terrorist organizations. The State Department and the Ministry of Internal Security are tasked with stopping such schemes. Experts note that the decrees will face lawsuits, as the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees birthright citizenship to anyone born on U.S. soil.
