August 5, Fineko/abc.az. Logistics company Fesco, part of state corporation Rosatom, has temporarily suspended accepting new applications for cargo transportation across the Black Sea.
The company clarifies that the decision was made taking into account security risks and will be valid until alternative logistical solutions are developed.
The reason for the suspension was the sinking of container ship Yanina, which was attacked by unmanned aerial vehicles in the Black Sea on August 1, nearly 240 km from Novorossiysk. The vessel with cargo capacity of 13,000 tons was operating a run via route India-UAE-Novorossiysk with civilian cargo. All 17 crew members were successfully evacuated.
Currently, Fesco is developing alternative transportation schemes in compliance with all safety measures.
